A natural disaster is the harmful impact on a society or community following a natural hazard event. The term "disaster" itself is defined as follows :"Disaster are serious disruptions to the functioning of a community that exceeds its capacity to cope using its own resources. 

Causes of natural disasters

The main  causes of natural disasters are tectonic shifts ,lunar activities ,deforestation ,soil erosion, air pressure, ocean currents, pollution ,global warming, mining etc

Types of natural disasters. 

1.Earthquake occur when the ground is subjected to so much force that it fractures or breaks. Most earthquakes are associated with tectonic plate boundaries.

2.flood

Floods are the most frequent type of natural disaster and occur when an overflow of water submerges land that is usually dry


3.Volcano

Volcanic disasters refer to complex events that involve various hazardous phenomena resulting from volcanic eruptions, such as tephra falls ,lava flows and pyroclastic flows


4.Tornado

A violent rotating column o air touching the ground ,usually attached to the base of a thunderstorm.
